We welcome new members
To join, we need a completed membership application and dues (renewable each year, 1 April through 31 March).  To accomplish this, print out the application form linked below, complete the information, and mail to the address on the form (DO NOT SEND TO THE CORONA PUBLIC LIBRARY; WE AREN’T ALWAYS ABLE TO RETRIEVE MAIL FROM THE LIBRARY) along with a check made out to Corona Genealogical Society for the appropriate amount:
per individual – $20/year ($10 after 1 September);
per household – $30/year ($15 after 1 September). Note about dues paid from February into the “new” fiscal year, pay full amount and it will pay you through to the end of the next fiscal year.

(We have had to discontinue electronic membership renewal and joining; when we are able to reinstate that convenience, we will post it here. Thank you for your patience.)
Benefits of membership

While the meetings are open and free to the public, there are definite advantages to becoming a member of the society.

***************

The group affords members opportunities to network with others as well as to receive periodic emails about events (of our society as well as other genealogical and historical organizations), news items of particular interest to club members, updates on meetings and related events, etc. This is also achieved through the Facebook group.
******************

Members are also invited to present programs of particular interest to the rest of the group in exchange for a year’s membership.  New members receive a “how to” welcome packet with forms and suggestions for beginning their family history research (while people can join by mail, packets must be collected at a general meeting). Members also get the log-on information to gain access to the Members’ Only page on this website (where sign-in information is available for the Facebook page as well as the publications of the California State Genealogical Alliance).

*********************
Members are also encouraged to participate in the society’s mentoring program, providing personal assistance to those either needing help with either beginning genealogy research or using computers (for genealogical purposes).  To become part of this new program of the society, please complete the submission form on the Members Only page.

In the works: a surname project for Members Only to share their ancestral names and locations in hopes of connecting with others working on the same lines and locales.
